Our number one priority will always be the health and safety of our clients, staff and the communities we serve. We continue to use physical barriers and other appropriate safety measures due to Covid-19. We continue to use enhanced cleaning protocols and have hand sanitizing stations at our entrances. We may ask you to wear a mask while in our office space. Please stay home if you are sick. All of our group workshops and services are running. You can participate virtually if that is your preference. The Skills Centre continues to monitor the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Canada, the BC Ministry of Health and the BC Centre for Disease Control.
Yes, we offer most of our programs virtually. We can even lend you a laptop computer in some cases so that you can complete your training.
Yes! That’s what we’re here for. You can use the Job Board on your own, and you can contact us about the many ways we can help you gain the skills you need to find a job.
Most of our programs are free for you to take, and many of them even pay you a living wage while you learn the skills you need to get the job you want.
Ask us! We have programs for youth, for mature workers, for under-represented groups, for newcomers—we’ll do our best to find the program that best fits your needs.
Yes, your cover letter and resume are very important pieces of your job search. We help with these skills in every one of our programs.
Yes! Doing well in your interview gives you confidence, and interviewers see that. We can help you with your interview skills and will even accompany you on an interview in some situations.
