The Castlegar & District Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Centre is hiring for two summer student positions for the summer of 2025.

These temporary roles will run for 8 weeks, beginning June 23, 2025, with a pay rate of $18.50 per hour.

Students can expect to work between 32 and 35 hours per week.

Weekend availability, including Saturdays and Sundays, is required.

Shifts:

Wednesday – Sunday
Friday – Tuesday
Hours:

9:00am – 5:00pm

Requirements:

• Must be entering full time post-secondary education to qualify
• Proficient in social media and Microsoft office
• Strong, well-spoken, friendly personality
• Self-starter, and a Castlegar ambassador!
• Must be proficient in written and verbal communication skills
• Responsibilities:
• Identify information needs in support of visitor requests
• Provide information and answer questions
• Distribute brochures and promotional materials
• Promote local tourism services and attractions
• Encourage new and return visits
• Gather and record statistics for Destination BC
• Maintain brochure racks and inventory, cleaning, stocking, etc
• Sell retail merchandise and handle cash transactions
• Perform other administrative tasks as needed
• Assist with projects and events
