Treatment Plant Operator
Job Description
Responsible for the operations and maintenance of the City’s water treatment and distribution and wastewater treatment and collections systems.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head Treatment Plant Operator, you will be responsible for performing highly skilled operational and maintenance work in the City’s water and wastewater treatment, distribution and collections facilities. Work involves performing operational and maintenance duties required to maintain water and wastewater quality that meets or exceeds all compliance criteria outlined in the City’s Operating Permits as well as Provincial and National Legislation and standards.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a minimum certification at Level I from the Environmental Operations Certification Program in Water Treatment and/or Wastewater Treatment accompanied with demonstrated experience in water and/or wastewater treatment operations in local government including working in confined space and working with computer-controlled monitoring systems (SCADA).
This position is a CUPE Local 2262 position attracting an hourly rate dependent on level of Certification: $38.97 for Level 1, $39.73 for Level 2 and $41.04 for Level 3 Certification plus EOCP Certification Premiums (max.$3.40 per/hr).
