Transformer Technician
Job Description
Exciting Opportunity: Boundary Electric is Hiring a Transformer Technician as Our Department Expands!
The Transformer Technician is responsible for the documentation and repairs of transformers in Boundary Electric Ltd.’s main production shop. This includes evaluating, testing and reconditioning transformers as required.
Key functions:
· Transformer Evaluation, Repair & Refurbishment
o Follow testing procedures outlined in the testing documents and record results following the workplans of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System as well as any specific customer-related production requests
o Ensure that all information is accurate and complete on all Work Orders and Project related documents
o Testing as per Boundary Electric Ltd.’s (BEL) ISO 9001 standards
o Other testing and inspections as required
o Test/Evaluate/Repair motors and pumps
o Support the Sales Department and other departments by lending technical advice and expertise when needed
o Ensure transformers are complete and ready to ship
o Communicate with the Team Lead and Operations Manager on daily basis
Special Requirements:
· Electrical background
· Mathematically inclined
· Be self-motivated and possess personal accountability
· Above-average organizational skills
· Above-average attention to detail
· Able to follow direction and work seamlessly in a team
Education, Skills, and Attributes:
· Strong computer skills
· Mechanically inclined
· Comfortable in a production environment
· Able to manage shifting priorities
· Experience working with hand tools and technical testing equipment
· Experience driving a forklift an asset
· Solution based thinker (problem solving)
· Able to work full time

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $23.00-$34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
