
Purchasing Expeditor - Temporary
Job Description
Mercer Celgar is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Purchasing team as a Temporary Purchasing Expeditor.
As a Purchasing Expeditor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Purchasing department by ensuring the seamless and timely delivery of materials and supplies for our operations.
This entry-level position offers an exceptional opportunity for growth and development in the Purchasing field.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication with suppliers and shipping companies to guarantee timely deliveries.
- Update purchase order information, verify pricing, and negotiate prices and deliveries where appropriate.
- Monitor and maintain accurate delivery times with suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve invoicing issues that could potentially delay critical shipments.
- Maintain open lines of communication with both suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth procurement processes.
- Prepare progress reports on outstanding orders and work with internal departments to prioritize deliveries.
- Document process issues.
- Streamline interdepartmental communication.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous business experience and/or educational background in a related field.
- Proficiency in a variety of office software applications including Google Suite, and SAP software.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, excel under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to solve problems creatively, individually as well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail.
- A commitment to meeting deadlines and ensuring prompt order fulfillment.
Salary
The salary for this position is $58,960.00 – $88,440.00.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
