The Village of Fruitvale has a vacancy for the position of TEMPORARY LABOURER
within the Bargaining Unit – CUPE Local 2087. This position is a regular day-shift role
for a term of up to six months, depending on workload. The position will commence
on a mutually agreed-upon date. A probationary period will apply as per Article 7.04
of the Collective Agreement. The rate of pay for this position is $33.50 per hour (2025
rate).

Reporting directly to the Public Works Foreman, the successful applicant will be
required to perform all unskilled, semi-skilled tasks and manual work associated with
laborer duties. Assignments are performed under general supervision and
performance is subject to review, inspection and evaluation by the Public Works
Foreman.

Minimum requirements are as follows:
• Grade 12 or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• A valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license with Air Brakes; with satisfactory profile.

Must be in good health and capable of physically demanding labour.
