The Beaver Valley Library is looking for a Summer Reading Club Coordinator! Working with supervision and assistance, the Coordinator will plan, organize and deliver the BC Summer Reading Club (SRC) 2026 program to children ages 5-14. The theme for this year is Under the Sea! This position runs for 10 weeks, and includes orientation, planning and wrap-up weeks, as well as 7 weeks of program delivery. Program delivery will include weekly crafts, activities, reading challenges, and more! This is a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience in an engaging and creative job, in a supportive work environment. To be eligible for this position you must:
• Be between the ages of 16 and 30
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee
• Have attended school full-time in the last academic year and intend to return to school in the next academic year.

Skills and Experience:
• Demonstrates excitement and an interest in providing a fun and engaging program for children in our community.
• Has experience working with children.
• Recognizes the value of fostering literacy.
• Enjoys creative expression.
• Has a high level of time-management, organization and planning skills. Ideally, experience with planning activities and events.
• Is comfortable and proficient with the internet, social media, and word processing.
• Has the ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
• Comfort with customer service.
• A driver’s license and vehicle are not required, but there are aspects of the position that could benefits from this.
