Your future role on the team

By joining our team, you will be asked to contribute to the various stages of project execution, mainly in the utility and industrial sectors, including proposals, site inspections and condition assessments, structural steel and concrete design, detailed engineering, and field review while benefitting from BBA’s network of recognized experts who will support you in carrying out your mandates and in your career development.

With us, you’ll get the opportunity to…

  •  Establish client needs, prepare or review reports, estimates, specifications, quotations and proposals;
  •  Prepare and review design deliverables;
  •  Perform calculations and studies;
  •  Work with designers and drafters in the preparation of drawings to BBA and client standards;
  •  Perform site inspections;
  •  Perform field review at client sites, locally and abroad;
  •  Create project scope of services, budgets and schedules;
  •  Plan and monitor work assignments and costs;
  •  Communicate with internal and external stakeholders;
  •  Maintain friendly, close relationships with clients or the representatives.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Civil engineering, or similar;
  • Eligible to register with EGBC as an E.I.T.;
  • A valid class 5 BC driver’s licence;
  • Ability to read drawings;
  • Experience preparing and reviewing technical documents such as reports, specifications, studies, plans, calculation notes and instructions;
  • Previous experience designing steel and/or concrete structures;
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as SAP2000;
  • Willingness to travel on short notice to customer sites and other BBA offices;
  • Excellent communication skills with high competency in English (both spoken and written);
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and MS Excel;
  • ASSET: Experience with finite element analysis;
  • ASSET: Billingual (English and French);
  • ASSET: Experience with Autocad.

  • Annual base salary between $ 68,000 to $79,000
  • Annual bonus program for all regular employees
