Sclerotherapy Nurse (Part-time)

West Kootenay Skin Clinic is seeking a part-time (Approximately 16 hours per month) Registered Nurse to join our physician-led vein and aesthetic practice. We provide evidence-based, patient-centered care in a warm and collaborative environment. In this role, you will work closely with our vein physician, Dr. Sarah Tucker, and will independently assess and treat patients using clinic protocols and physician-developed treatment plans. The physician will be present in the clinic during all sclerotherapy clinic hours and available at all times for questions or concerns.

This role is ideal for an RN who enjoys procedural work, wants to develop or expand expertise in vein care, and values working closely with an experienced physician in a supportive clinic setting.

There is potential for this role to expand in hours over time as our vein practice continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform independent patient assessments including history, vein evaluation, photography, and doppler or ultrasound findings where applicable.
• Report assessment findings to the physician for final review and treatment planning.
• Perform sclerotherapy injections using liquid or foam techniques, following clinic protocols and physician direction.
• Provide treatments independently, with the physician on-site and readily available for support, clarification, or escalation.
• Assist with or perform doppler or ultrasound assessments if trained and competent.
• Prepare sclerosant and all procedural materials with accuracy and attention to safety.
• Monitor patients during and after treatments and manage expected post-procedure events or minor complications within the RN scope.
• Apply compression garments and reinforce post-care instructions.
• Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure in good standing.
• Prior experience in sclerotherapy or doppler or ultrasound-assisted vein assessment is preferred.
• Strong venipuncture and injection skills.
• Ability to assess independently and work within delegated medical directives.
• Excellent communication and patient-care abilities.
• Reliable, self-directed, and comfortable performing procedures independently with physician support available.
• Experience in dermatology, medical aesthetics, or procedural care is an asset.

Compensation

• Starting wage $42 hour (negotiable depending on experience). Wage will be reviewed after a probationary period is completed.
