Since 2015, Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort has been proudly owned by the Lower Kootenay Band, marking the return of the Ktunaxa people to this important site in their traditional homeland. We are honored to share this special place with guests from around the world.
What You’ll Do:
As General Manager, you will oversee all property operations (including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, hot springs spa and maintenance) to maximize revenue, control costs, and ensure exceptional guest experiences. You will be responsible for strategic planning, staff leadership, financial performance, and maintaining brand standards to drive profitability and high customer satisfaction.
Operations Leadership:
• Oversee all aspects of hotel and resort operations including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, food & beverage, and hot springs
• Ensure seamless service delivery and consistently high standards across all departments
• Conduct regular inspections and implement procedures to maintain excellence
Financial & Business Performance:
• To work with the CFO in developing and monitoring P&L, budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Optimize revenue and control costs to meet performance targets
• Collaborate on pricing strategies and revenue management
Team Leadership:
• Oversee recruitment, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team
• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management
• Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture
Guest Experience:
• Build strong relationships with guests and handle escalated concerns
• Identify opportunities to elevate guest satisfaction and loyalty
• Be present and visible throughout the property
Community & Growth:
• Represent the resort within the local community and tourism industry
• Support job fairs, partnerships, and charitable initiatives
• Help drive marketing efforts and strengthen brand presence
• Partner with the Lower Kootenay Band to meaningfully incorporate Indigenous culture, art, and storytelling into the guest experience
Systems & Innovation:
• Manage and optimize hospitality systems (PMS, POS, HR/Payroll software)
• Identify opportunities to streamline operations and enhance the guest and employee experience
Compliance & Safety:
• Ensure the resort maintains legal and licensing compliance within all areas of the resort, including but not limited to health and safety
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and staff
What You Bring:
• Min. 5 years of demonstrated management experience, overseeing multiple departments (e.g., rooms, F&B) within a small to mid-sized hotel or resort
• Post-secondary education in tourism/hospitality management or business administration, preferred. Accounting or HR is an asset.
• A combination of industry experience and/or post-secondary education is strongly preferred
• Proven ability to provide strong leadership, communication, and decision-making
• Strong interest and/or experience in building relationships and working collaboratively with local First Nations
• Demonstrated financial acumen (budgeting, P&L, forecasting)
• Proven ability to lead and contribute in a dynamic, hands-on environment
• A genuine passion for hospitality and the motivation to inspire your team to consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Additional Info
Compensation & Perks:
• Full time, permanent position
• Salary: $85,000-$95,000 annually
• Discretionary bonus, based on resort performance
