Based in Trail, BC, in the beautiful West Kootenays and on the traditional territory of the Sinixt, Ktunaxa, Syilx and Secwepemc peoples, the Skills Centre is hiring a Project Specialist. The position pays $44,663 – $67,026 per year and comes with generous health, dental, RRSP and professional development support, plus a 4 day work week. This position is based on-site at the Skills Centre’s newly renovated office building in downtown Trail. Reporting to the Programs Manager, the Project Specialist is a key staff member responsible for the smooth operation of client services and program delivery within the Skills Centre. This role requires a strong combination of interpersonal, technical and organizational skills to support program participants, manage technology and data systems, and maintain efficient office workflow. The position is pivotal in providing front-line support, maintaining accurate records and fostering a welcoming environment for participants and staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Client Centered Service Delivery & Program Facilitation
- Provide employment coaching, guidance and referral services to clients in person and virtually to support clients to reach their full potential.
- Design, update, and facilitate skills building workshops for clients.
- Respond to client inquiries via phone and in person with professionalism and care.
- Track attendance, manage participant data, and handle confidential information.
Program and Service Planning & Evaluation
- Support the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned projects.
- Build and maintain community, social and business networks to support program success.
- Develop strategies, follow budgets to achieve program goals and objectives.
- Represent programs as spokesperson when required.
Stakeholder Engagement, Outreach & Collaboration
- Conduct outreach to promote programs and attract participants.
- Build and maintain community and organizational partnerships for resources and referrals.
- Collaborate with team members to align services with organizational goals.
- Participate in internal and external meetings and committees to share expertise and updates.
Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training
- Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in social sciences, education or equivalent working experience in related field. CCDP preferred.
- Proven experience in administrative roles, with knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check.
