Job Description
The Family Action Network (FAN) of the Lower Columbia Society requires support for the part time position of Project Coordinator for a 12 month-long period.
Contract Deliverables Overview
The FAN Board of Directors is looking for a personable, innovative projects professional to support us in developing, marketing and facilitating a variety of projects related to investing in families through programing, services and supports. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for; raising awareness of the importance of the investing in families and children for a thriving community and of FAN itself, consulting with parents and other stakeholders to ensure FAN is relevant and useful. The position will be the lead in charge of many projects and will be responsible for marketing, service delivery and gathering and monitoring metrics and reporting.
Qualifications and Experience ·
· Superb English writing and grammar skills.
· Excellent PowerPoint skills; proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet research skills. Must be well versed in Instagram and Facebook.
Significant experience managing multiple and concurrent responsibilities and establishing and acting against relative priorities, independently but within prescribed guidelines.
· Minimum 3 years of project coordination and/or program facilitation experience.
· Experience with meeting planning and event coordination.
· Experience with designing and printing marketing plans and materials an asset.
· Knowledge of family supports and services and/or issues would be an asset.
· Formal education in social/human service/sciences, management, marketing and/or facilitation will be considered an asset.
· General understanding of project budgets.
Demonstrated Skills / competencies in:
Project management, meeting deadlines, group processes, working in a non-profit environment.
Must be eligible to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident). Must pass a criminal record check prior to start date.
Willing to take food safe and First Aid.
Knowledge of:
Graphic design process, facilitating workshops and meetings, social sector and/or childhood issues.
Contract Budget
The Project Assistant is expected to work on a flexible, part-time schedule, and will be a hybrid of in office and work from home. The hourly rate is $33 per hour hour to a maximum of 384 hours ($12,672), based on 8 hours a week for 12 months with the possibility of increased hours subject to funding.
The position is expected to start work April 1, 2024.
This is a twelve month-term position. Extension beyond this date will depend on ongoing revenue-generation activities within the Organization.
The Project Coordinator will work directly with the Executive Director, be responsible to the FAN Board of Directors, be willing to travel throughout the Lower Columbia region and maintain a visible and accessible presence. A travel budget is also available. There will be a requirement for in office work at least once a month. If working from home is not desired, all hours can be worked in office, starting August 2024.
