Project Coordinator
Job Description
About DJM Contracting
DJM Contracting Ltd. is a general contracting and construction management firm based in Rossland, BC, delivering residential and mixed-use projects across the region. We are currently managing a portfolio of active builds under CCDC construction management contracts and are looking for a Project Coordinator to support delivery across three of them.
The Role
The Project Coordinator supports the Construction Manager in the day-to-day administration and coordination of three concurrent projects delivered under a CCDC 5A Construction Management contract. This is a delivery-focused role: you’ll keep trade contracts, documentation, cost tracking, and schedules moving so the Construction Manager can focus on decisions and owner-side coordination. The projects span a 54-unit mixed-use residential build, a townhome development, and a project in close-out, so you’ll see the full lifecycle of construction management delivery
Key Responsibilities
Contract & document administration
Administer trade contracts and purchase orders under the CCDC 5A structure, including tracking scope, buyout, and contract status across all three projects
Maintain project documentation: drawings (IFC and revisions), specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs, ensuring current versions are distributed and controlled
Manage the RFI and submittal logs — issuing, tracking, and following up to keep turnaround on schedule
Cost & change management
Support cost tracking against project budgets and cost codes, flagging variances to the Construction Manager
Prepare and track change orders, contemplated change notices, and change directives; maintain the change log
Assist with progress billings, subcontractor invoicing review, and payment application support
Scheduling & coordination
Maintain and update project schedules and two-week look-aheads in coordination with site supervision
Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers — scheduling, information flow, and follow-up on outstanding items
Prepare agendas, take and distribute meeting minutes, and track action items for site, consultant, and owner meetings
Site & close-out support
Support quality and deficiency tracking, including unit reviews and deficiency lists through to sign-off
Assist with project close-out: O&M manuals, warranties, as-builts, and deficiency resolution
Support health, safety, and regulatory compliance documentation as required
Qualifications
Required
Diploma or degree in construction management, engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent site/coordination experience 2+ years in a project coordination, administration, or engineering support role in construction [adjust to desired level]
Working knowledge of construction documents, trade sequencing, and the coordination role of a construction manager
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, SharePoint/OneDrive) and comfort learning project management and field software
Preferred
Familiarity with CCDC contracts, particularly CCDC 5A construction management delivery
Experience with project management / field tools (e.g., scheduling software, Fieldwire or similar)
Understanding of the BC regulatory and municipal permitting environment
Valid BC driver’s licence and ability to travel between local sites
Additional Info
Competitive hourly wage of $25–$35/hour, based on experience
Full-time, permanent position with a consistent local project portfolio
Comprehensive benefits package following a three-month probationary period
RRSP matching contribution plan
Primarily office-based work (approx. 90%) with regular time on active site.
