Role and Objectives:

The Production Coordinator under the direction of the Continuous Improvement Manager, is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and execution of project production from beginning to end. The Production Coordinator will work closely with Operations, as well as Projects, and Sales Teams. They will develop strategies and processes to maintain consistent execution of projects at a production level.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain project schedules in conjunction with our clients and production team to achieve all project milestones
  • Assist in developing and maintaining an accurate project and plant scheduling model
  • Produce approval documents for customers
    • Produce and issue production documentation used to manage workflow and ensure accurate results.
    • Arrange panel and beam combinations (nesting) for production in Cadwork/ Scheduling Spreadsheets.
    • Create production-ready documents including:
    • Production Schedules. Finishing schedules for packaging and finishing.
    • CSV files for machine data upload.
  • Review shop drawings and prepare fabrication files.
  • Develop appropriate bill of materials for within ERP system.
  • Maintain saleable goods inventory
  • Track and compile production data for QC and continuous improvement purposes
  • Track costing and capacity at various work centers
  • Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as requested or required.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in construction, engineering, wood processing or related field preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in mass timber or other prefabricated construction technologies considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer focus
  • Proficient in applicable software (i.e. CADworks, Revit, MS Office, Excel, Power BI) considered an asset. Proficient in Excel including familiarity with VLOOKUP & SUMIF functions as well as general understanding of SQL Queries and VBA
  • Strong organizational and planning skills • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial attitude

Working Conditions:

  • Overtime as required
  • Occasional exposure to dust, noise, and fumes when on production floor
  • Occasional exposure to weather when visiting storage yard(s)
  • Occasional stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, walking when completing inventory management related tasks
  • Very occasional use of ladders, or working at heights under 10’, when checking on project inventory, etc.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment will be required when entering production facility or in yard(s) (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.).
  • Desk work, with interruptions and an expectation of ability to refocus quickly
  • Ability to occasionally lift 25 lbs.
