Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Pet Nutrition Specialist at House of Paws Pet Boutique. As a Pet Nutrition Specialist, you will play a crucial role in educating customers about pet nutrition and assisting them in selecting the right food and supplements for their pets. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

1. Pet Nutrition Consultation: Engage with customers to understand their pets’ dietary needs and recommend appropriate food products based on factors such as age, breed, activity level, and health conditions.

2. Product Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest pet nutrition trends, brands, and ingredients to provide accurate information to customers and make informed recommendations.

3. Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels of pet food, treats, and supplements, and ensure that shelves are well-stocked and properly labeled.

4. Customer Service: Provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers, answer their questions about pet nutrition, and address any concerns they may have regarding their pets’ health.

5. Promotional Activities: Participate in store promotions, events, and workshops related to pet nutrition to educate both staff and customers.

6. Store Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store, including regular cleaning of food and water bowls, display areas, and storage spaces.

7. Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of sales transactions, customer inquiries, and special orders to track customer preferences and trends.

8. Social Media: Contribute to our social media platforms by creating engaging content related to pet nutrition, health tips, product highlights, and customer testimonials. Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute social media campaigns

Qualifications:

1. Passion for Pets: Genuine love and understanding of various types of pets, including dogs, cats, small animals, birds, and fish.

2. Knowledge of Pet Nutrition: Strong knowledge of pet nutrition principles, including the importance of balanced diets, dietary restrictions, and nutritional requirements for different life stages.

3. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and provide clear nutritional advice.

4. Product Knowledge: Familiarity with a wide range of pet food brands, ingredients, and nutritional labels.

5. Sales Experience: Previous experience in retail or customer service roles is desirable, with a focus on sales and product recommendations.

6. Certifications: Any certifications or training related to pet nutrition or animal care are a plus.

7. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry bags of pet food and supplies and stand for extended periods during work hours.
