Operations Role and Objectives:

We are seeking Operations employees to join our team at Kalesnikoff. We are looking for candidates who are interested in a growth opportunity in a production environment, acquiring training in various job centers throughout our two facilities between Castlegar and Nelson, BC to provide support where needed.

Compensation Package:

  • Wage: $28.50 per hour.
  • Shift premiums: Nightshift: $.50 per hour, Weekend: $3:00 per hour.

Hours of Work:

Weekday Monday to Thursday rotating 10-hour shifts every 2 weeks: 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Dayshift) and 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM (Evening shift)

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED).
  • One year’s experience working with machinery in a manufacturing setting is considered an asset.
  • A commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • Flexible approach to work tasks with a willingness to support other departments as required.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team.
  • Must have a reliable method of transportation.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and apply learning in day-to-day processes.
  • Experience in lumber manufacturing or heavy industrial environment would be an asset.

Physical demands and working conditions:

  • You can lift/carry 20-40 lbs. repetitively for up to 8 – 12 hours a day.
  • You can lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • You are comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment.
