Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic industrial work environment with a range of engineering, technical and operational personnel
  • Demonstrate ability to gather and analyze data to identify key trends and determine root cause.
  • Willingness to participate in day-to-day troubleshooting in an operating plant, process simulation and optimization, and laboratory test work.

Qualifications

  • Working towards an undergraduate degree in Metallurgical, Process or Chemical Engineering
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • All students will be required to complete pre-employment drug testing prior to commencing work.

Wage Range: $4,500 – $5,700 /Month

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.

Location:  Trail, British Columbia, CA
Duration: 8 months

Intake date: Monday, May 13, 2024

Application deadline: Monday, March 4 (we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis)

Minimum Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term. You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PST or MDT or relocate to a specific office (Vancouver or site-based)

Desired background: For this role, we are targeting students with a background in Metallurgical, Process, or Chemical Engineering.
