Metallurgical Engineering Co-op Student
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic industrial work environment with a range of engineering, technical and operational personnel
- Demonstrate ability to gather and analyze data to identify key trends and determine root cause.
- Willingness to participate in day-to-day troubleshooting in an operating plant, process simulation and optimization, and laboratory test work.
Qualifications
- Working towards an undergraduate degree in Metallurgical, Process or Chemical Engineering
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- All students will be required to complete pre-employment drug testing prior to commencing work.

Wage Range: $4,500 – $5,700 /Month
Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.

Intake date: Monday, May 13, 2024
Application deadline: Monday, March 4 (we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis)
Minimum Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term. You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PST or MDT or relocate to a specific office (Vancouver or site-based)
