- Record (CHR) training to be provided

General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process incoming faxes: attach to patient chart, rename and date document
appropriately - Respond to patient inquiries via email, voicemail or KB Patient Portal messaging in a
helpful, respectful and efficient manner - Calls, emails or sends KB Patient Portal messages to patients for follow up or to advise
of results or other information as instructed by providers - Complete tasks from providers, ie: schedule follow-up appointments, request information
from other providers/specialists, send faxes - Approve online appointment requests from patients
- Maintains accurate and up-to–date electronic medical record, including the patient chart
- Processes new patient intake forms, adds appropriate patient tags
- Uses Meditech for updated contact info, pulls information for providers
- Ensures patient confidentiality
- Takes payments and issues receipts for non-insured services
- Operates general office equipment (virtually) including SRFax, VOIP system (voice over
internet phone), Adobe Acrobat PDF, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Zoom - Completes daily tasks in order of priority
- Adheres to KB Health Primary Care Clinic Manual guidelines
- Performs all other related clinical, administrative or special tasks as required
- Provides coverage for Patient Services Coordinator for holidays/sick time
Education/Experience:
- Knowledge of medical office procedures considered an asset
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) considered an asset
- Previous reception experience considered an asset
Virtual Front Desk MOA, Work from home, Part-time 12 hours/week, $20-$23/hour
Reports to: Patient Services Coordinator, KB Health Providers, Prima Health Cooperative
Background: KB Health Clinic is a new clinic model in the Kootenay Boundary(January 2022).
We are a virtual clinic that also provides in person appointments (70% virtual by phone/video, 30% in person).
We receive unattached high priority and selfregistered patients from the Health Connect Registry and provide interim primary care until we can help get patients attached to a bricks-and-mortar clinic close to their hometown.
We work in partnership with the KB Health Connect Registry.

If you live in the Kootenay-Boundary area*, have a home office space, wifi, medical office experience, an eagerness to learn, and you can multitask while remaining calm, can communicate effectively and frequently using chat, EMR messaging, email or text, you may be the right person for this job.
*although this is a remote position, team members are required to attend team meetings in person within the region
Additional Info
Hours and Compensation:
- 12 hours per week (Set schedule to be 2 days x 6 hours OR 3 days x 4 hours, clinic
operates 7-days/week, some flexibility possible, additional hours may be requested
when coverage is needed) - $20-$23 per hour based on experience
