Trail FAIR Society has openings to join the Lower Columbia Better At Home Seniors Program and is accepting applications for a Program Coordinator.

Lower Columbia Better At Home Coordinator: This position is 35 hours per week. The hours of work are typically scheduled Monday through Friday, daytime hours. Remuneration is at FAIR Wage Grid 14. For new FAIR employees, Step 1 of the Grid is $33.77 per hour plus benefits as per FAIR policy. This position reports to the Manager of Family and Seniors Services. This position is in-person, non-virtual.
Job Summary The Lower Columbia Better At Home program aims to support seniors in the Lower Columbia region to remain independent and safe in their homes and to increase their resiliency through community connections. The role includes the following tasks:
· Meet with seniors in their homes to discuss needs and resources.
· Develop and implement a service plan in collaboration with the senior that offers our basket services including light housekeeping, appointment transportation, grocery shopping, social engagement, and minor home repair/maintenance.
· Recruit, coordinate and oversee applicable Lower Columbia Better At Home services which can include program staff, contractors and / or volunteers.
· Provide support and referrals to appropriate FAIR or other community programs as needed.
· Perform administrative duties, statistical reporting, budget planning, purchasing.
· Coordinate and collaborate with other seniors programs within our region
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
· Degree in human services field or equivalent in education and experience.
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a supportive capacity with diverse populations using interviewing and assessment skills.
· This position requires travel. Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.
Knowledge and Abilities:
· Self-motivated with well-developed case management and planning skills; organization, time management, problem solving and decision making skills essential.
· Knowledge of local community resources and an awareness of the issues impacting seniors.
· Adequate computer skills and proficiency in Office products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook; as well as experience in working within a network.
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize demands as well as delegate and manage staff, contractors and / or volunteers.
· High professional ethical standards, discretion and flexibility.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to identify critical issues and prioritize needs and concerns.
