The RDKB is currently seeking applications to fill a temporary, full-time Lifeguard 3 Instructor position located in Grand Forks, BC, reporting to the Manager of Facilities and Recreation.

Lifeguards perform skilled lifeguarding and instructional work, ensuring a fun, clean and safe experience for the community. As part of the Aquatics team, lifeguards are responsible for assisting with community swimming and water safety programs. Working in a team environment, lifeguards will demonstrate courtesy, tact, diplomacy and customer service skills in dealing with the public as well as coworkers.

This position will suit candidates with qualifications in Lifeguard Instructor Level 3, or who have taken Bronze Cross and National Lifeguard Pool courses with our team at the Grand Forks Aquatic Centre. The preferred candidate will enjoy working in a busy and diverse organization where they engage with the community and support a great community service.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

• Minimum 16 years of age
• Current National Lifeguard Pool certification

Preference will be given to candidates who also possess:

• First Aid/CPR qualification
• Water Safety Instructor training
• Life Saving Instructor’s Certificate
