Beaver Valley Medical Clinic is a patient-centered, community-based health clinic dedicated to delivering comprehensive and accessible care through a collaborative and evidence-informed approach.
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team.
This role is defined in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s Nurse in Practice contract and focuses on delivering holistic, trauma-informed, and culturally safe patient care services.
The LPN will provide care to individuals at all life stages with stable or predictable health conditions, supporting improved health outcomes and access to services.
This position offers flexible employment options, with opportunities for both full-time and part-time work.

LPN ROLE – PATIENT CARE SERVICES
Under the Health Professions Act – Nurses (Licensed Practical) Regulation and per the Ministry of Health’s Nurse in Practice contract, LPN Patient Care Services include:
• In-person and virtual assessments for patients with stable or predictable health conditions
• Delivery of culturally safe and trauma-informed therapeutic interventions, including those grounded in Indigenous cultural rights and other equity considerations
• Support for chronic disease management, health promotion, and disease/injury prevention
• Health education (individual and group-based) on topics like smoking cessation, nutrition, physical activity, and substance use—delivered in clinic, by phone, or through outreach/home visits
• Care coordination for less acute, less complex clients with predictable outcomes, in collaboration with internal and external care providers

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct assessments and screenings aligned with LPN scope of practice
• Provide education, immunizations, and health counselling
• Document care accurately per BCCNM standards
• Participate in planning and implementing care strategies with the team
• Promote wellness and culturally responsive care practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care providers

IMPORTANT ROLE CLARIFICATIONS
• LPNs do not triage or determine patient acuity/wait times
• Care for complex patients is permitted only with appropriate additional education and/or supervision
• LPNs do not perform MOA duties, as determined by the provincial contract.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduate of a recognized LPN program
• Current practicing registration with BCCNM
• Experience in primary care or community health preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and team collaboration skills
• Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally safe care and health equity
• Ability to work independently within scope
