Job Description

Reporting to the College Librarian, this position provides public services to library patrons.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Performs general circulation duties in support of the Library’s public service operations
Shelving materials; shelf reading; producing ID cards for students and staff
Providing general orientation, direction, and instruction to library patrons;
Maintaining and demonstrating peripheral equipment to patrons (copiers, printers, microfilm reader, etc.)
Assists with processing interlibrary loan requests
Assists with processing student & staff ID card requests
Other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Ability to work proficiently with Integrated Library System (ILS) software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, photocopying and printing
Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, customer service, and multi-tasking skills

Education and Experience
Library Technician Diploma, or currently enrolled in a Library Technician program
Library experience, preferably in an academic library

This is an on-call position (0%), commencing August 31, 2026. Salary will be Pay Grade 6, $30.76 per hour in accordance with the PPWC Collective Agreement.
