The Village of Fruitvale has a vacancy for the position of TEMPORARY LABOURER within the Bargaining Unit – CUPE Local 2087.

This position is for regular day shift for up to a 6-month term, dependent on workload.

The position will commence mid-April and as mutually agreed upon.

A probationary period will apply as per Article 7.04 of the Collective Agreement.

The rate of pay for this position is $33.50 per hour (2024 rate).

Reporting directly to the Public Works Foreman, the successful applicant will be required to perform all unskilled, semi-skilled tasks and manual work associated with laborer duties.

Assignments are performed under general supervision and performance is subject to review, inspection and evaluation by the Public Works Foreman.

Minimum requirements are as follows:

 Grade 12 or equivalent (G.E.D.)

 A valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license with Air Brakes; with satisfactory profile.

 Must be in good health and capable of physically demanding labour. Documentation of above noted requirements may be required.
