International Student Recruiter/Cultural Advisor
Job Description
Reporting to the Director, International Education and Development, and utilizing a service excellence approach, this position gives support in the areas of international student services, international applications and marketing, and study abroad project support.
Note: This position is based in Castlegar and is required to be in-person (remote work is not possible) as the duties require frequent student engagement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates student activities; maintains and monitors social media marketing.
- Assists with various aspects of international student services; provides coverage for the International Student Services Coordinator.
- Develops marketing and recruitment strategies for countries overseen by this position and assists the international department in other marketing/recruitment initiatives. Some international travel may be required.
- Answers inquiries from agents and prospective students and processes student applications.
- Promotes, supports and coordinates study abroad.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and desktop publishing.
- Experience with international students and well‐developed cross‐cultural communication skills.
- Fluency in a second language used in a major international market is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Must have a relevant 2‐year college/university diploma in an area related to business, marketing, or international studies.
- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an educational environment or marketing field working with international students.
This is a temporary, part-time (60%) position, covering a maternity leave, commencing mid- to late-January 2026, and ending February 1, 2027, depending on the return of the incumbent, and with the possibility of being extended to 18 months. Salary will be Pay Grade 8, $33.38 per hour in accordance with the PPWC Collective Agreement.
