Trail FAIR Society has openings to join the Interior Crisis Line Network – Trail and is accepting applications for a Program Coordinator.

Interior Crisis Line Program Coordinator: This position is 24 hours per week. The hours of work are can vary across seven days of the week with some flexibility in the scheduling. Hours may include daytime weekend and evening work.  Remuneration is at FAIR Wage Grid 13. For new FAIR employees, Step 1 of the Grid is $30.75 per hour plus benefits as per FAIR policy. This position reports to the Manager of Mental Health, Legal and Supportive Housing Services. This position is in-person, non-virtual.

Job Summary

  • To coordinate and deliver the services of the 24 hour Crisis Line.
  • To provide support and leadership to staff and volunteers who answer crisis line calls.
  • Maintains effective membership with Interior Crisis Line Network (ICLN) and Network Partners
  • Facilitates Crisis Line training for staff and volunteers
  • Monitors performance and call records of Crisis Line and provides regular evaluation and performance feedback to staff and volunteers.
  • Provides debriefing to staff and volunteers on an as needed basis.
  • Promotes Crisis Line program through community education, meetings, forums, posters and brochures.
  • Liaise with staff to identify and address program concerns and ensure the services are appropriate to the aims and objectives of the contract and the organization.
  • Maintain program budget, records, monitoring and evaluation systems as required and provide information to the Program Manager or Executive Director when requested.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in human services field or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Experience in telephone crisis intervention.
  • Adult education or group facilitation experience.
  • A current First Aid Certificate

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Relevant community resources and the ability to research relevant information and services as required.
  • Ability to effectively support and provide information to people in urgent and/or emotionally charged situations from a Crisis Response lens
  • Good written communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent leadership skills including the ability to demonstrate respectful communication and problem solving models.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify critical issues and prioritize needs and concerns.

A valid BC driver’s license and unrestricted access to a vehicle are required.
