GIS Student
Job Description
The RDKB is currently seeking applications for a full-time, student position with the Planning & Development department. This is a 6 month temporary position, projected to start May 13 and end November 15, 2024.
Reporting to the Manager of Planning and Development, and working closely with the GIS team, the GIS Student will primarily be responsible for undertaking a project that prepares RDKB street address data for the Next Generation 911 (NG911) program. The student will also work with GIS staff to complete routine GIS tasks.
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following attributes:
- Completion of at least 1 year of an Advanced Diloma of Geographic Information Systems (ADGIS) and/or an equivalent post-secondary GIS qualification
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Esri suite of software products, as well as Microsoft Office products
- Passion for GIS and mapping
- Practical time management and organizational skills
- Professional written and oral communication skills
- Valid BC Driver’s License

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Compensation: $23.48/hour (2024) plus 10% in lieu of benefits
