
GIS Co-Op/Career Path Student
Job Description
Responsible for assisting the Engineering Department with maintaining and updating GIS datasets related to the City’s water, sanitary, storm, and transportation networks and supporting work translating data sets to a new GIS Platform.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Engineering & Infrastructure, you will be assisting the Engineering Department with various Geographic Information System (GIS) tasks related to spatial data management.
The successful candidate will support the transition to a new GIS platform and assist with mapping, data management, and field data collection while ensuring accuracy and consistency in GIS records.
The student will also perform general office duties to assist with engineering and operational activities.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be enrolled in a full-time postsecondary Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Geography, or related program (diploma or degree) with completion of the first year of the program or the minimum courses required to be considered for Co-op experience.
An hourly rate of $23.05 + 10% in lieu of benefits in accordance with the Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 2262.
