Are you a seasoned leader with a passion for community service and firefighting? The RDCK is seeking an experienced and dedicated full- time Fire Chief to lead our dynamic team of volunteers in ensuring the safety and well- being of our community.

The Fire Chief:

• Inspires, motivates, and leads a team of dedicated volunteer firefighters, fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and con- tinuous improvement.
• Oversees and coordinates emergency response activities, ensuring rapid and effective deployment of resources to mitigate incidents and protect lives and property.
• Implements training programs to enhance the skills and readiness of our volunteer firefighters, promoting a culture of ongoing learning and professional development.
• Actively engages with the community to build trust, educates residents on fire safety, and establishes partnerships that contribute to the overall safety and well-being of our community

The successful candidate must be willing and able to reside in the North Shore Fire Protection area.

REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• NFPA 1001 FF2
• NFPA 1041 Fire Service Instructor 1 (FSI 2 preferred)
• Fire Officer Training (NFPA 1021 Fire Officer 4 standard preferred);
• ICS 200 (ICS 400 preferred)
• NFPA 1521 Incident Safety Officer preferred
• Meets minimum Fire Fighter First Aid Requirements; valid First Responder or higher certification preferred
• Core modules of the BCMSA Supervisor Safety Certificate

This is a full time benefited position working 35 hours per week.

The normal annual rate for this position is $84,644, but varies between $80,983 to $92,026 dependant on experience.
