The Lower Columbia Community Development Team Society (LCCDTS) as an exciting opportunity for a new Executive Director to lead the staff and board through its next phase of development and renewal and in line with the mission, vision and values of the LCCDTS.
The position has enormous growth potential to build on our amazing successes including Metal Tech Alley and the award winning Incredible Market.

Based in the South Kootenay, the Lower Columbia Community Development Team Society (LCCDTS) supports both the economic and community development of the Lower Columbia (from Rossland to Fruitvale).
The LCCDTS has a storied history of promoting successful economic development initiatives such as Metal Tech Alley, to developing community supports such as the award-winning Incredible Farmers Market, new housing and a new community
health centre.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the President of the Board, the Executive Director is responsible for ensuring organizational success.
This role requires a strong combination of executive and leadership skills. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all operational, financial, technical and governance aspects of the organization.
The successful candidate will work with staff and board, volunteers and community members to ensure that our strategic plan is implemented, that we meet our annual fundraising goals and that we continue to build our capacity to ensure long term success.
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership:
The Executive Director will serve as the front face of the LCCDTS. They will champion the LCCDTS mission, vision and values, and be able to build past successes into a bold new organization.
2. Fundraising:
Securing continued and new funding will be a priority for the new executive director, The executive director must provide fundraising leadership and ensure that the organization has the funds to execute the budget and meet strategic priorities.
3. Board Development.
The executive director reports to the president of the board, but must also help build, sustain, and strengthen all board functions including meetings, policy compliance and committee work.
The executive director must also ensure that the board is fully compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements.
4. Financial Management:
The executive director must be able to demonstrate competence in reading, creating, adhering to and understanding financial documents, including budgets, cash flow, income statements, balance statements and statements of functional expenses. The executive director must understand the financial requirements for not-for-profit organizations. The executive director will also work with an external auditor to prepare the annual audited financial documents.
5. Human Resources:
The executive director leads the recruitment, onboarding, retention, management and development of staff and recruitment of consultants as required.
6. Operations and Technology:
The executive director is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for staff and thatstaff have access to the technology they need to successfully complete their job.
7. Programs and Activities:
The executive director must work with the staff, board and community volunteers to ensure that the strategic program priorities are met. The executive director will lead various program initiatives such as Metal Tech Alley, and will also work with staff and volunteers to meet additional program and community priorities.
8. Community Relations and Communications:
The executive director will be the public champion of the LCCDTS and will be expected to lead media and other communications. They will also develop strong and respectful relationships with members of the board, with funders and with community partners.
9. Compliance:
The executive director is responsible for ensuring regulatory and legal compliance is achieved.
They will be responsible for all provincial and federal reporting requirements.

Compensation: $95,000 – 115,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus a generous benefits package, paid vacation and paid sick leave.
