Job Description
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Kootenay Brain Injury Association (KBIA) and ensuring the administration of all programs and services in accordance with the Association’s mandate. The ED operates under the direction of the Association’s Board of Directors, a policy and governance Board. KBIA is a non-profit organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a leader that holds strong communication skills both written and oral. Strong public relations skills and engagement with networking opportunities. Management of outreach workers, grant writing, day to day operations, financial accountability and reporting while adhering to the annual budget. Human relations experience and expertise would be an asset. Maintaining strong interpersonal relationships with our funders and tracking grant spendings and report writing. Knowledge of how a non-profit organization works.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in a senior management position, with experience in the non-profit, charitable sector and possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Previous experience working with individuals with acquired brain injury (ABI) and family members is required. Sensitivity to cultural diversity, education level, and emotional needs of individuals with ABI will be a pre-requisite for working with this group. There is an expectation by the Board that the successful candidate will demonstrate continued lifelong learning with respect to advances in the field of rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals with ABI. Expertise in use of computers, staff management, fiscal management, volunteer development, strategic planning, public speaking, conducting him/herself in a professional manner, which best reflects the mission, goals, and objectives of the KBIA.
Hours of Work and Pay Rate:

Wage will be determined at time of interview and based on years of experience, education, etc. Hours of work will be 24-26 per week and can be flexible. Office is located in Castlegar however the organization supports the entire West Kootenay’s.
