Coordinator
Job Description
The Trail Community Action Team (TCAT) seeks a Coordinator to manage TCAT initiatives, meetings, and collaborative projects. This role involves developing strategies, supporting evaluation processes, and building partnerships and relationships with community stakeholders, including those with lived and living experience (PWLLE). Additionally, the Coordinator will supervise the Social Media Coordinator*, ensuring alignment with project goals and supporting their development.
*Note: The TCAT Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator positions may be combined for a qualified candidate.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Committee Coordination:
• Schedule, prepare for, and facilitate monthly TCAT meetings and working groups, including managing invites, agendas, minutes, and member lists. Agendas will be set in consultation with TCAT co-chairs.
• Submit report to CAT Steering Committee prior to monthly meeting
• Identify and onboard new partners as needed to strengthen initiatives.
Community Engagement and Support:
• Build and maintain effective relationships with community partners and PWLLE.
• Develop and sustain relationships with PWLLE in the Lower Columbia, working with REDUN and ANKORS to provide support structures for PWLLE and Indigenous members to ensure inclusion and engagement.
• Maintain the TCAT mailing list and author, in conjunction with the Social Media Coordinator, a brief monthly newsletter.
Project Management and Reporting:
• Coordinate and plan TCAT initiatives, including advocacy, anti-stigma knowledge and education, harm reduction and allyship efforts.
• Ensure TCAT projects align with objectives and report progress to the TCAT
Steering Committee and funders.
• Address project risks or delays and assist in promotion efforts, including social media and public communications.
Additional
Qualifications and Experience
Experience:
• Experience in project coordination, community development, PWLLE engagement, population health, community capacity building, program evaluation, substance use services, and facilitation experience are assets.
Skills:
• Knowledge of the toxic drug crisis, harm reduction and trauma-informed care. Interest in building research and knowledge base of the issues.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work in dynamic environments with a wide range of audiences.
• Compassionate and culturally safe approach to working with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with CATs and connections in the Lower Columbia community (an asset).
• Proficient in computer and social media skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Facebook, Instagram)
• Knowledge of fundraising and writing grant proposals an asset.
