Responsible for leading the delivery of the City’s Communications Plan and activities, including sharing accurate information to citizens in timely and meaningful ways, developing and implementing public participation plans, promoting the City projects and the West Kootenay Regional Airport, and leading internal communications.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Communications Manager will work closely with all departments and develop and implement the City activities which enhance communications, increase public engagement, and improve internal communications. The Communications Manager provides support and advice to all levels of the organization, leads all communications and public participation activities, assists with the delivery of City events, and coordinates the City’s print and digital content.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, journalism or relate field, with a minimum of five years prior job-related experience, preferably in a local government environment.
