The Lower Columbia Community Health Centre Network Society is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing holistic, accessible healthcare to all, including the vulnerable populations we serve.
Located amidst the stunning natural beauty of the Kootenay region, our organization owns and operates the Lower Columbia CHC, a new community health centre in Trail, BC.
We are looking to add to our multidisciplinary team that delivers comprehensive care addressing the physical, mental, and social determinants of health.
Your Role
The Clinic Lead is an experienced individual who role models our values and shares our passion for making a difference in our community.
The Clinic Lead will be on site Mon-Fri to support the opening of the new facility and the transition of the existing clinical and admin team.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Clinic Lead is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Lower Columbia CHC.
The Clinic Lead will oversee the staff team, identify and implement system improvements, and continually evaluate the effectiveness of the service delivery and make corresponding service adjustments in collaboration with the Executive Director and the team.
There is a possibility this role will evolve into a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities
– Manages phone systems, statistics, creates user accounts, updates messaging
– Coordinates staff scheduling and updates appropriate scheduling system
– Assists with scheduling learners, GP specialists, and visiting specialists
– Liaise with Doctors of BC for Practice Support Projects Quality Improvement Cycles
– Completes requested clinical and financial EMR queries (Intrahealth Profile)
– Coordinates and troubleshoots all IT and phone service needs
– Coordinates clinic security
– Orients all new staff, clinicians, learners
– Trains new admin staff
– Ensures cross training on all clinic essential functions
– Coordinates morning huddles
– Manages document repository and ensures proper permissions
– Helps integrate new technologies into provision of patient care
– Schedules Rounds with care teams
– Ensures patient consents in place for team-based care
Qualifications and Skills
– Three-five years experience as a Medical Office Assistant or other medical office administrative role
– Experience working as Clinic / Office Manager, preferable in a community health centre or medical office, is considered a strong asset
– Supervisory experience is considered a strong asset.
– Strong knowledge of medical administrative workflow and utilization of electronic medical record system (Intrahealth Profile)
– Demonstrated experience in managing projects and/or leading teams or activities.
– Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communications, and supervisory skills.
– Experience working in a team-based care environment
– Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative style with staff and leadership.
– De-escalation, crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– Strong knowledge of issues affecting communities facing access barriers to health care.
– Demonstrated knowledge of the social determinants of health, harm reduction approaches and working with diverse and marginalized communities, particularly individuals who are unhoused, living with mental health issues and/or substance use, immigrants or refugees, and those from the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
– Demonstrated organizational, office, and communications skills, including attention to detail and high level of accuracy
– Proficiency in IT office applications
– Energetic, flexible person and able to handle many areas at once; strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
– Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
Role: Clinic Lead
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Trail, British Columbia
Type: Part-Time (20 hours / week), 6-month Contract, with the possibility of extending
Salary: $35-37 / hour
