We are looking for a Class 1 Lowbed Truck driver to join the Sutco Transportation team in Castlegar, BC. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transport heavy equipment by operating a tractor and low bed equipment trailers between various job sites.
  • Load and secure heavy equipment on a low bed trailer.
  • Follow site safety rules and regulations.
  • Chain-up vehicle based on road conditions.
  • Drive in challenging off-road environments like forestry roads and mountain terrain.
  • Conduct pre and post and trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, road worthiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Complete all electronic records regarding working hours, vehicle status and maintenance records using the industry’s best fleet management system, ISAAC.
  • Ensure trucks are left clean and safe at the end of each shift.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

As a member of the Sutco Transportation team, we expect you bring the following to the table:

  • Class 1 Driver’s Licence
  • 3-5 years of mountain lowbedding experience hauling heavy equipment in the forestry or mining industries.
  • Experience operating heavy logging and mining equipment.
  • Extensive experience of load securement.
  • Acceptable driver’s abstract, based on Sutco’s abstract review policy.
  • Experience operating heavy logging and mining equipment.

  • Ability to enter the US for work purposes preferred.
