Job Description

Position Title: Children’s Librarian / Programmer

Location: Trail & District Public Library

The Trail & District Public Library is seeking a dynamic and technology-savvy librarian to join our team as a children and youth librarian and oversee makerspace and technology programming, for an 18 month maternity leave. This dual-role position requires exceptional communication, problem-solving, and project management skills to lead the development and management of our makerspace and technology programs while also overseeing the management of the children’s and youth collections. The ideal candidate will possess a collaborative mindset and a passion for engaging with diverse community members of all ages. Key responsibilities include initiating, planning, and hosting a variety of programs and activities; providing one-on-one technology assistance; maintaining makerspace equipment and software; and managing all aspects of the children’s and youth collections. The successful candidate will be committed to staying informed of technology trends and fostering strong relationships with community groups to promote library services. Hours: Part-time (28 hours per week – 4 days) flexible start date

Wages: as per CUPE local 2087
