The City of Trail’s Public Works Department is seeking a qualified individual to fill the full-time position of Certified Journeyperson Mechanic.

Reporting to the Purchasing and Mechanical Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City of Trail’s Fleet. A detailed job description outlining the specific duties and responsibilities is attached.

Qualifications for this position include:

1. Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician/Mechanic. Will consider interprovincial Red Seal Transport Mechanic.
2. Interprovincial TQ and Pressure Fuel Certification.
3. MVB Inspector authorization number/license to inspect vehicles0-5500kg and 5500 kg and above.
4. Valid BC Class 5 with Air Brake Endorsement Driver’s License.
5. Must be in good physical condition and capable of handling heavy materials.
6. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
7. Knowledge of computer systems and a demonstrated ability to work with automated maintenance management systems.
8. Welding and fabrication experience.

Wages and benefits are as per the Collective Agreement (Pay Grade 12 – $45.10 2025 rate).
