A local cookbook author is looking for a detail-oriented, food-loving human to help transcribe and lightly edit a handwritten cookbook into a clean, digital format.

This is a contract-based, as-needed role that pays a living wage. You’ll be working directly with the author to turn well-loved, handwritten recipes into a polished, accessible document — all while preserving the heart and charm of the original writing.

What the job involves:

• Transcribing handwritten recipes and notes into a digital document (Google Docs or Word)

• Light editing for grammar, clarity, and consistency while keeping the author’s voice intact

• Occasional check-ins with the author to clarify notes or structure

• Working at your own pace within agreed-upon timelines

You might be a great fit if you:

• Have experience with transcription or editing (or are a fast learner!)

• Are comfortable reading handwriting and translating casual notes into clear writing

• Value local, community-based projects

• Are reliable, communicative, and self-motivated
