Job Description
RED Mountain Resort is looking for experienced Bike Park Patroller’s to join our team for the 2025 Summer Season.
The primary responsibility in this role will be to patrol the Bike Park as advanced mountain bike riders, opening and closing bike trails, ensuring the safety of riders and performing first aid.
The anticipated start date for this position is May 2025, ending in October 2025.
RESPONSBILITIES
- Provide the highest possible acceptable standard of First Aid and rescue services for our guests and employees.
- Ensure first aid and accident documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure proper signage is appropriately placed and maintained according to industry and company standards.
- Learn and complete all evening sweep routes as outlined and directed.
- Participate in manual lift evacuations as required.
- Operate Company vehicles in accordance with safety policy and procedure.
- Proper utilization and maintenance of all safety equipment required in the performance of daily activities.
- Follow the developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Proper assessment of risks/hazards and addressing these as required to ensure the safety of all those at the resort.
- Maintain and care for company equipment and facilities in an acceptable manner.
- Maintain and accurately complete documentation records/logs/daily check sheets/field books/first aid paperwork as directed.
- Work cooperatively with all employees and departments as the need arises.
- Provide first aid and rescue for any special events.
- Maintain a safe environment for all guests.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Current 80+ hr. First Aid Certificate, Peak NUEC A or WSBC OFA A.
- Current CPR-C Certificate.
- Extensive experience riding a mountain bike on trails ranging from beginner to advanced.
- Strong knowledge of the Mountain Bike Industry.
- Basic understanding of mountain resort Risk Management.
- PEAK Advanced Protocols an asset.
- PMBIA certifications an asset.
Physical and Other Requirements
- Advanced Mountain Biking ability on downhill style trails.
- High level of physical fitness free of injury with the ability to carry a pack with first aid gear.
- Must be physically able to perform all duties relating to mountain biking.
- Must be able to be on a bike for up to 6 hours a day.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis to move objects and up to 150 pounds loaded trail basket over mixed terrain. Candidates must pass a fitness test for this requirement.
- Must be able to work weekends and/or evenings.

- Able to make quick decisions using good judgement and knowledge of the trail network.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Be a positive role model and assist other employees and guests of the resort as required.
- Self-motivated and able to work productively with limited supervision and under the direction of management.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to always take direction in a positive manner from management.
