Job Description

The Asset Management Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining the RDCK’s Asset Management Program.

This includes developing asset hierarchy, identifying data gaps, and implementing strategies for asset lifecycle, service levels and risk assessments to support sustainable financial planning.

The coordinator will oversee the program’s delivery, ensuring alignment with senior management objectives.

Key duties include coordinating and leading a steering committee, reviewing assets and inventory and leading the scoping, procurement, and implementation of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).

The role also involves integrating GIS software, implementing the Asset Management Roadmap, collaborating across RDCK programs, managing reporting and developing funding stategies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in asset management, property management, or related fields, preferably within a municipal or regional government setting.

• Professional Certification in Asset Management Professional (AMP) certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, completed or substantially in progress, is preferred.

• Proven experience working with asset management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, IBM Maximo, etc.).

• Proven experience in managing physical assets, including their lifecycle, maintenance, and disposal processes.

• An equivalent combination of qualifications and experience would be considered.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong analytical skills to assess asset performance, forecast needs, and recommend improvements.

• Project management experience to coordinate asset-related projects, including budgets, schedules, and resources.

• Proficient in asset management software and tools, including Microsoft Excel, and other data management platforms.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for liaising with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.

• Knowledge of managing budgets, forecasting, and f inancial reporting related to asset portfolios.

• Experience with project management and budgeting (including working with cross-functional teams).

• Experience with Civil work projects.

• Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in fast-paced environments.

he normal starting hourly rate is $46.52, with a range from $44.50/hr to 50.56/hr depending upon education and experience.
