Job Description
Accounts Payable Clerk for an established medium sized construction company.
Hil-Tech Contracting Limited is currently seeking an Accounts Payable clerk for a full-time permanent position.
Key Responsibilities will be as follows:
The Full-Time position of AP Clerk will report directly to the Administration Controller, and will be responsible for:
• Payables / Job Costing – Receiving invoices, review the information & distribute to Project Manager for approvals.
• Prepare and process payments to vendors.
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and other related matters.
• Receiving & processing cost related information supplied by other departments.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions, invoices, and payments.
• Process company payroll.
• Managing company P.O. tracking system.
• Reconciliation & payment of Union Dues.
• Data entry into Sage 50 accounting systems.
• Project job costing & coding.
• Take on assigned tasks and a willingness to learn.
• Learning construction terminology and processes
• Complete daily tasks each day as required.
Experience – Required Knowledge & Skills
• Previous experience in accounts payable role preferred.
• A degree/diploma/certificate in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Payroll is preferred.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced office setting with two or more staff.
• Knowledge of the construction industry; understands general construction terms and processes would be an asset.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational & time-management skills in order to meet strict deadlines and handle multiple tasks, while maintaining a high attention to detail.
• Flexibility to manage increased volume of work as required.
• Desire to take ownership of tasks assigned and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively with limited supervision and in a team environment.
• Strong communication abilities for interacting with others.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
Additional
Full-time position, Work hours to be Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
$25.00 – $30.00 per hour depending on experience. A competitive benefits package is also available.
