Job Summary Strategic Human Resources Manager Management Band 2

This position can be based in any Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction office (subject to operational requirements and space availability). The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity. We offer flexible work arrangements, including the opportunity to volunteer to telework (with conditions) as set out in applicable employer policies.

This is a temporary opportunity until December 30, 2022. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.

This position is excluded from union membership.

The Manager of Strategic Human Resources (SHR) designs, develops and implements ministry-wide strategic human resource policies, initiatives and programs. The position provides strategic advice and consultation on the development of the Ministry’s workforce plan, organizational development, and implementation of corporate-wide programs and initiatives. The Manager is responsible for working in partnership with all ministry staff to align human resource strategies with ministry business goals and the organization’s culture. Job Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Post-secondary degree in a related field (such as human resources, organizational development, leadership, education, public administration, business administration), and minimum 1-year *related experience; OR Post-secondary diploma in a related field (such as human resources, organizational development, leadership, education, public administration, business administration), and minimum 2 years *related experience; OR An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Related experience must include all of the following:

Experience developing and implementing workforce plans, organizational development and employee engagement initiatives. Experience providing customer service to clients with a focus on building and cultivating trusting collaborative relationships. Experience designing, developing, implementing and evaluating programs. Experience supervising direct reports and/or project teams. Experience using MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).

Preference may be given to applicants with:

Experience in virtual supervision and/or virtual projects/project teams. Experience preparing briefing notes and designing and delivering presentations for senior and/or executive endorsement and/or decision. Experience carrying out research and analysis to support programs and initiatives.

Proviso:

Occasional travel may be a requirement of this position.
