Shipping & Inventory Coordinator role and objective:

The Shipping and Inventory Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Sales Manager in order management, inventory controls and the coordination of logistics, by truck, rail and overseas freight. You will play a key role in the organization and management of our export programs, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries to our customers. You will also have a good understanding of our inventory flow and be able to forecast volumes against outstanding order files.

This is a salaried position. The successful applicant will report to our KMT Logistics Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

Enter orders and sales confirmations Coordination and prioritization of shipments against order files Be the ‘Process Owner’ for our Inventory Management System Complete monthly and annual inventory checks using proper inventory management controls Assist the Sales Manager in communications with customers to ensure excellent customer service Complete export documentation and work with our Vancouver sales office to coordinate shipments overseas Organize and manage freight programs via rail and truck Coordinate site-to-site transfers of inventory Create customs documentation for shipments crossing between Canada/USA borders Continuously improve on sales systems and processes, focusing on organization, accuracy and efficiency Prepare and distribute various daily/weekly/monthly sales and inventory reports

Qualifications:

Background in shipping – including rail, containers and trucks Experience working in inventory systems Background in sawmill production and/or quality control would be considered an asset Exceptional planning and organizational skills Ability to work with integrity at all times Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and ability to present information in a clear and concise manner Excellent customer service skills Experience working independently and in a team-oriented environment Strong collaboration, relationship building and teamwork skills Ability to multi-task and complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner Strong lateral thinking and problem solving skills Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, and ability to learn new computer systems quickly
