Shift Supervisor, Roaster Acid/2nd Class Power Engineer
Reporting to the Production Superintendent, Roasting & Sulphur Products, this position will be accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the Roaster, Sulphur Gas Handling and Zinc Pressure Leach plants and for the development and training of employees reporting to them.
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, who has strong work ethic and keeps safety a priority.

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures As per TSBC regulations, ensure the safe operations of the roaster and TFO boilers Provide operational expertise to resolve frequently changing process conditions Ensure that needs for plant improvements are identified and that action is taken to achieve improvements Contribute to cost control by monitoring costs and providing cost and variance reports Set objectives for shift and report daily on performance Motivate and hold all reports accountable for performance Perform all other related duties as required
2nd Class Power Engineer certificate is required; however, applications from candidates who hold a 3rd Class Power Engineer certificate and are actively working on obtaining their 2nd Class certificate will be accepted and considered Exposure working in a unionized environment and knowledge of Collective Agreements would be an asset Ability to plan and organize your own work as well as the work of others Can gather and interpret information to make rational and realistic decisions Good oral and written communication skills, promotes open communication and demonstrates respect for others Has a strong work ethic and sets high standards of performance for self and work-team Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability and willingness to learn
