Job Description

The Kootenay Co-op is looking for an enthusiastic Receiver who will have knowledge of inventory systems, grocery products and receiving procedures, and will be an excellent problem solver and organizer. As well, the ability to operate warehouse equipment, provide exceptional internal and external customer service and adhere to safety policies is essential. This is a 24h/ week position. The ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs is required. SKILLS + QUALIFICATIONS • Training in pallet jack operation • Fork Lift training certificate and valid BC Driver license • Knowledge of all aspects of the Department’s operations, systems and procedures, as well as grocery product knowledge • Receiving, preparation and stocking of product and special ordered items • Excellent customer service skills both internally and externally • Adherence to all safety policies and protocols • Excellent attention to detail and impeccable accuracy • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work consistently at a fast pace • Great problem-solving skills • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and daily assigned duties

DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensure integrity & accuracy of shipment • Ensure product is received and has been shipped at the correct temperature • Ensure all special orders have been pulled before scanning for immediate pulling. • Ensure all boxes are opened and scanned by UPC • Ensure all dates are checked (grocery & fresh) and determine if dates are acceptable • Accurately and in a timely manner, ensure the order is scanned into SMS and all discrepancies are reported to the Lead Receiver. • Communicate all miss ships, damaged or short dated product directly and in a timely fashion to Lead Receiver • Assist with receiving/working an off-site warehouse pick • Prepare product for sale and ensure grocery, bulk, cooler and freezer sections of the store are well stocked, rotated, fronted, faced and cleaned at all times • Perform basic SMS queries such as inventory and price checks as required for customer service • Follow proper back stock procedures (block, condense, rotate, etc.) • Promptly answer pages and phone calls when you are near the warehouse • Comply with the policies and procedures set out in the Employee Handbook and the Health and Safety Manual as well as Worksafe BC regulations • Other Duties – as prioritized in the department handbook, information and as a resource for the Wellness Manager, Facilities Manager and General Manager
