International Raw Materials LTD (IRM) markets and distributes crop nutrients and industrial commodities through our extensive distribution system. We are committed to connecting agricultural and industrial customers to critical inputs through innovative, safe, and sustainable logistical solutions.

The position supports numerous aspects of the full life cycle procurement and distribution of global agricultural and industrial chemicals, and performs many organizational and management tasks to monitor, maintain, and improve a company’s transportation processes and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage rail fleet operations to include supply/demand balance, transit performance, and dwell time

• Oversee fleet maintenance programs to ensure equipment remains in working order, in compliance with regulatory requirements, and meets industry standards, with minimal downtime and expense

• Develop strategies to maximize rail fleet utilization, quality, efficiency, and economy and provide progress reports both internally and externally

• Track and analyze Supply Chain expenses at both granular and macro levels to inform appropriate business decisions

• Support improvements to our business processes across our rail Supply Chain, including improved tracking and measurement of rail fleet performance, resource planning & optimization, and costs

• Develop expertise in, and champion ongoing implementation and development of, IRM’s Transportation Management Solution

• Develop written policies and procedures for rail fleet operations

Candidate Profile:

• A bachelor’s degree in business, preferably in operations or supply chain management

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in bulk/liquid rail logistics, international business operations a plus

• Committed to Safety and Safety Leadership

• Awareness of regulations and governing agencies pertaining to transportation and handling of hazardous materials

• Ability to complete DOT HazMat General Awareness training

• Already possessing or ability to obtain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

• Proven leader with success managing others

• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and a desire to work in a fast paced, challenging environment

• Team player with ability to communicate effectively within different levels of the organization

• Ability to travel as needed

• Experience with MS Excel and transportation management software needed; familiarity with SAP is a plus
