Job Description

The Skills Centre is Hiring! Based in beautiful Trail, BC, on the traditional territory of the Sinixt, Ktunaxa, Syilx and Secwepemc peoples, the Skills Centre is hiring a full-time (34 hours/week) Project Specialist. The position pays $24-28/hr depending on experience plus benefits. This position is based at the Skills Centre office. All Skills Centre employees have access to extensive training and supports.

Duties include:

  • Support the development, facilitation and maintenance of workshop material and updates curriculum when needed.
  • Builds and maintains networks to bring resources and referrals for program attendance and to support program goals and objectives.
  • Facilitates work experience opportunities; Supports participants in job placement and provides job coaching as required.
  • Provides employment counselling and support to clients.
  • Collaborates with team members

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in social work, psychology, social sciences, education, marketing and communications or equivalent working experience in related field.
  • Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) Designation preferred.
  • Experience facilitating workshops
  • Confident speaker and communicator
  • Experience working in complex teams to complete programs
  • Experience developing, organizing, and implementing programs
  • Experience collecting and entering data
  • Experience working respectfully in multi-cultural communities

Willingness to complete different trainings such as the Psychological Safety training, as required.
