Job Description

Responsible for supporting projects and programs associated with housing, climate action, and community wellbeing in alignment with the City’s Strategic Plans and associated bylaws, standards, and best practice.

Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager of Planning, Development & Sustainability, you will be a key member of the Development Services Department, managing and supporting projects and programs associated with departmental responsibilities as they relate to the City’s Strategic Plans and associated bylaws, standards, and best practice. This role will be responsible for presenting projects and programs to City Council, Senior Management, the Advisory Planning Commission, and other committees as required.

This position requires a strong knowledge of the regulations, policies, bylaws, and legislation governing development approvals in British Columbia.

Qualifications The successful candidate will have a Degree in Planning or a related discipline, membership or eligibility in the Canadian Institute of Planners accompanied by 3 years’ experience, preferably in a local government setting.
