Job Description

We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician or assistant. We offer a stress-free work environment with friendly staff and customers.

Responsible for the scope of practice of a regulated pharmacy technician or assistant Responsible for patient experience Responsible for participating as a member of the leadership team Experience with compounding is an asset. PCCA or Medisca compounding training would be beneficial. Qualifications

Must be registrant in good standing with the BC College of Pharmacists Excellent communication and customer service are a must. Experience with Kroll Windows systems Efficient at following established pharmacy systems Pharmacy technicians are responsible for:

Ensuring the accuracy of drug and personal health information in patient records e.g. allergies, medical conditions, lab values etc., Ensuring confidentiality when gathering, using, or providing patient information Receiving and transcribing verbal prescriptions from practitioners Transferring prescriptions to and receiving prescriptions from other pharmacies Referring to the pharmacist patients who require a review of their medication therapy if the dose seems inappropriate/out of range Referring to the pharmacist patients who require assessment, clinical analysis or application of therapeutic knowledge e.g. for a medications review, a smoking cessation program etc. Ensuring that a prescription is complete, authentic and comply with all legal requirements Processing and preparing a prescription for commercially available products and extemporaneous compounds. Ensuring the accuracy and performing final checks of a prepared prescription Ensuring that the pharmacist have evaluated the prescription prior to release Releasing and managing billing and payment for prescription
