Parks and Rec Admin Clerk
The City of Trail’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a qualified individual to fill the temporary full-time position of Parks & Recreation Admin Clerk at the Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre. Reporting to the Acting Director of Parks & Recreation, the incumbent will be responsible for providing exceptional front-end customer service to patrons and support the day-to-day operations of the Department by working closely with other Department personnel including Accounting Clerks, Cashiers and Recreation and Aquatic Coordinators. The incumbent must have proven effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse, recreation-based environment. This is a temporary full-time position to cover a leave of absence the duration of which is unknown at this time.
Qualifications for this position include:
Minimum Grade 12 education required. Post secondary course work in office/business skills. Supplementary course work in basic accounting principles or related work experience is preferable. Demonstrated proficiency in industry standard computer operations and associated software, including CLASS, Windows and MS Office Suite. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with fellow staff members. Extensive experience dealing with the public and providing exceptional front-line customer support. Demonstrated ability to follow directions and to work with minimal supervision in a busy environment. Ability to receive and process cash, cheque and credit card remittances, as well as prepare basic daily reconciliations. Working knowledge of and competency in basic accounting principles. This position is within the CUPE Local 2087 Bargaining Unit. Wages and benefits are as per the Collective Agreement. The current hourly rate is $34.45.
