Your quality and skills make you a great candidate as our Operations Support Representative.

In this role, you’ll put your written and verbal communications skills to work by managing and maintaining project related customer and/or designer requests from initial contact to project reconciliation. You’ll provide project support to all team members to ensure the project workflows and tasks are completed in an efficient manner.

In year 1, you will: Assist in the quotation process and material management, including reservations, requisitions, and quote collection and reimbursement. Develop relationships within the Distribution Projects group, other FortisBC departments and 3rd party stakeholders in general. Understand how to track, enter, and process most work types within the various business systems (i.e., Open Item DataBase (OID), SAP, CIS, ArcFM, Workspace etc.) Start providing Planning and Design support in response to a variety of external and internal requests. Spend time with other colleagues and peers learning overall project flow and requirements, and participating in on-site customer meetings with designers to gain a better understanding of repairs and/or upgrades being completed in the field.

In year 2, you will: Assist in coordinating and developing construction packages for larger projects such as subdivisions, commercial services and system improvements. Reconcile projects upon completion and complete quote collection and reimbursements, processing line shares and requests for payment. Assist in improving processes and meeting deadlines for the department, while providing timely reporting from various business.
What it takes: High School graduation including courses in office practices and business communications. Nine months directly related relevant work experience. Extremely adaptable and a quick learner. Customer-centric with a passion for problem-solving. A team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others.
